"It seems that at least one serious illness must occur in our lives to analyze our whole life. After learning new lessons, with intelligent minds, we have to forge new paths. As living beings, or for as long as we are alive, we must support each other, help each other, and strive not just for 'me' but for 'we'."
Turning point
At that stage of life when the time comes for important changes, that's when you experience the greatest suffering.
That's when you feel panic, anxiety, uncertainty, perhaps feelings of loneliness, and depression.
The sky has fallen.
In the very beginning, you will taste failure. You will ask so many 'whys' to yourself, the universe, or God:
Why did it happen? Why me? Why must I suffer? Why should I give up my dreams? Why have some people left me after my diagnosis? And so on...
Feelings of injustice and fear, and doubt—so much doubt about your recovery. That's inevitable.
In fact, this is a "big wind of change" that will radically turn up your life.
Yeah. It's a turning point, and if you abandon it, you will lose everything.
Everything happens for a reason
No matter the stage of cancer you're at, the word itself holds significant meaning, and the emotions associated with it prevent you from staying in constant serenity.
While focusing on the pain or fears linked to cancer, it's genuinely challenging to observe the miracles occurring around us. The illness itself, as an embodiment of "something to change," starts to function as a mirror.
Gazing into this unpleasant mirror, you confront your altered appearance, mood swings, treatment side effects, and wounds. So many wounds, each a testament to your existence beyond being a cancer patient—reminding you of your identity as a person, a woman, a man.
Noticing that something more than just the symptoms of this illness is happening within you.
You start discovering new resources within your inner self. Life becomes more precious than ever before. You grow stronger.
It's a critical moment where your personal transformation commences.
Warm wishes, Nina
